Canoe Sprint World Championship Support

The ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championship took place in Minsk, Belarus, in late July. Young and promising master of sports Juris Apters represented Latvia, with support from the Baltikums Foundation.

For 23 year old Latvia National Canoeing Team member and European prize-winner Juris Apters, participation in the World Championship among more than 1000 sportspeople from 62 countries was a great experience and a step up in his development.

Juris has been passionate about canoeing since he was 12. Over the years, he has spent hours training every day to exercise his body and develop emotional endurance. At the same time, Juris works as a coach, sharing his knowledge with children and young athletes aged 7 to 15. He is sure to share the invaluable experience he gained at the Canoe Sprint World Championship with the younger generation.

Baltikums Foundation is pleased with the opportunity to support such enthusiastic, determined and talented young people in carrying Latvia’s name throughout the world.
