Small Steps, Big Impact: Charity Highlights from 2024

April 02, 2025

In 2024, the BeOpen charity foundation remained active, attracting support from private and corporate donors to provide targeted aid to children with special needs and individuals with serious illnesses. Throughout the year, over 200 people received assistance, including more than 120 children with severe functional impairments. Donor support enabled rehabilitation in Latvia and abroad, acquisition of assistive equipment, medical consultations, treatment courses and surgeries not covered by public funding.

The total amount of donations received in 2024 reached EUR 540,817. The foundation operates without salaried staff, with all daily activities and decisions handled by board members on a voluntary basis, supported technically and functionally by its founder, BluOr Bank.

Ongoing support was provided through long-term initiatives such as “Green Lamp”, “Dreams of Special Children”, and “A Friend for a Special Child”, including skating and wheelchair tennis classes for children with mobility challenges. Support also reached large and single-parent families. BeOpen maintained close cooperation with other charity organizations (Ziedot.lv, Palīdzēsim.lv, BSF, Dauna sindroms Latvija) and media partners, enhancing public engagement.

More than 41,500 calls were received via the charity helpline. The foundation shares updates regularly via its website and social media.

In 2025, BeOpen will continue focusing on support for children with special needs, cancer patients, and seniors. Donations are welcome year-round, and every contribution makes a real difference in someone’s life and health.
